What better way to celebrate Father's Day than to compete for the championship in this year's Fête des Pères Tournament, Le Mistral Club's 2nd tournament of the year. The field consisted, of course, of both Pères and Mères.
With temperatures soaring above 90F, seven doubles teams battled it out as the sun bore down, forcing some to take drastic protective measures in their chosen headgear.
After each team played 3 long, competitive matches, the field was reduced to 4 surviving semi-finalist teams. Shown at right are eventual 2nd Place finishers, Levon & Judy, battling it out in the championship match. A carreau in flight for Levon le Tireur?
And, in fact, the winners this year were the real life Père/Mère duo of Pete and Trish Crowley, shown at left hoping the point holds.
