2005
Recap of Events & Activities
Green Hill Park in Worcester: the core group of Le
Mistral Club players showed weekly why petanque is so enjoyable for all of us.
Tournaments: Pete, Mark and Brian competed in the N.E. Regional
Triplette in NYC and advanced before being eliminated by the eventual champions.
Pete and his wife Trish, Mark and Brian also played in the Regional Doublet the
same weekend. Our Le Mistral Club tournament was postponed twice due to
rain and eventually was called off. Look for an expanded number of
tournaments in 2006.
Boston area petanque: 2005 saw the establishment of a terrain
in Boston. Initially, a small group of players met regularly on Thursday nights
under the lights at Hayes
Park, at corner of Warren & W. Canton Streets, in Boston's historic South End, for a few friendly games. Over time, the
turnout increased with regular visits by Nate, Patrick, Marty, Chris, Laura, JP,
Emily, Virginie, Brian, Pete and Trish plus several guest visits from passing
players from elsewhere in the US and abroad. It was a promising beginning
to a great new addition to the Mistral Club. In 2006, we will expand the
Boston area locations & opportunities to play petanque - so stay tuned for
more info!
